Team Fortress 2 Free to Play Weekend

Team Fortress 2 Free to Play Weekend

From May 21st (oops, that was yesterday) to May 25th, you can play the full game for free. All you have to do is install Steam, create an account, and download Team Fortress 2. We're still in the process of building up our own TF2 server (68.232.172.73:27015 for those of you trying to find it in the server browser) and Psyduck has started getting people involved with competitive pickup scrims if you feel the desire to go up against the guys that kill people like me before I even know they're shooting at me. Why is Valve promoting Team Fortress 2 by letting people play for free this weekend? They just released a big update to the Sniper and Spy classes, added some extra free content in the form of maps/game types, and also implemented some code for future features. This is something they do on a periodic basis and these updates are always free. Don't know who or what the Sniper or Spy are? Then it's time for you to...

EHJ TF2 Server

EHJ TF2 Server

We upgraded the trial TF2 division to an official division two weeks ago but we just wanted to get everything in order, like our own TF2 server above and scheduled events, before making the big announcement. We'll be planning shootarounds (informal gaming sessions where people can have fun just shooting at each other) every Sunday and Wednesday at 6:30PM PST/9:30PM EST but our goal is to make sure our server is full every day of the week with randoms and/or EHJ members. If you're an EHJ member and want to know how to get started with the EHJ TF2 division, you can find all the information you need HERE. We're also planning a one off EHJ scrim on May 16th so if you like the competitive side of FPS games, there's a few slots left to sign up for once you get access to the TF2 members sub-forum. It'll be a 7v7 or 8v8 so if you just want to watch as a spectator there will be a couple slots available. Questions about getting access to the TF2 division should be directed to WarmakerX. IronSlasher is in charge of anything related to our public server and the community we want to build around it. Psyduck is the guy to talk to regarding our competitive team that is aiming for fame, glory, and possible prizes if the competitions offer any!

EVE - EHJ has been BUSY

EVE - EHJ has been BUSY

Cry Havoc (EHJ alliance) has picked up some new faces. Invicta returned to their piratey roots, and we recently added two new corporations that we've been doing joint ops with for quite a while - Total Mayhem and Shade. This gives us a much broader timezone coverage, more strong FCs, and a bunch more sharp pilots to kill things and make people cry. Recently a giant swarm of angry Russians moved into our turf. We own some pretty high end resource points and people tend to underestimate us and figure they can take them away. This leads to lots of dead enemy capitals on a pretty regular basis. This week included two pretty wild battles for us: 04-05-09 : Kills : 52 Dreadnaughts, 17 Carriers. This battle actually hold's EVE's record for the most capitals to die in a single engagement, with 54 friendly capitals dying in the process (123 total, plus 1 hostile that self-destructed, 19 of which were Cry Havoc). That's more than every single capital we've ever lost before this, but meant we held the field, killed enormous stuff, and kept all 4 moons that were under contention that night. Well worth it 04-28-09 : Kills : 10 Dreadnaughts, 6 Carriers, and 1 Titan. First Titan kill for Cry Havoc. Wild battle that started with us in about 30 smaller ships and the hostiles in 20-odd capitals at a hostile starbase. We sparred some while overmatched, added some friendlies, then switched out for our own dreadnaughts. Lost 2 Dreadnaughts, but killed one of the largest ships in EVE - an Avatar class Titan.
