I'm disappointed at the lack of use with the Gallery. People have been wanting this for a long time, so naturally I was expecting the community to take to it relatively well and use it, rather than continue posting in, and even making, threads for their pictures.

So what's wrong with it? I want feedback. If you're not going to use it, tell me why. Is it really that separate from the forums that it's too much work to use it? Should it be organized a different way? Would it be better if you didn't have to upload files directly to IC, and could just enter a link to an image on another server (like photobucket, etc..)? Fear of not being able to "control" your own images? You can always go back and remove an image, edit its caption, etc...

What about the comments? You guys realize the gallery is just like the forums when it comes to image comments? You can post your thoughts/whatever on an image just like you can in a thread.

My thoughts:
- It's new. People need to get used to it. Ok, you've had several months now.
- It's too separate from the forums. Ok, I could see this as a valid reason.
- The drama surrounding its release put others off to using it. Drama's over, use it.
- People don't know how to use it? Ask me..

So really as far as I see the only valid reason is it's too separate from the forums. How does these solutions sound?

- Add a forum category on the board index containing the root galleries. It'll look just like the other forums, with last information, number of images & views, etc. Should a new image or comment be made, the "forum" will show as unread.
- Add the gallery statistics to the bottom of the forum with the board statistics

The forum will be offline for about 30 minutes starting around 10PM EST Sunday. I will be moving us over to a user group based system for manging permissions. If everything goes according to plan you should still be able to access your division's forums when the board comes back online. I will also be doing some forum re-config and adding the IGN profile fields discussed in this thread. The original plan was to wait and do it with the new website, but that's taking longer than expected.

Big shout out to CryForHelp for achieving the highest possible level in Dofus! She is the first Enirpsa in EHJ to hit the max level and is the ONLY level 200 in EHJ!



Just to try to explain how difficult this task is, leveling from 1-199 takes the same total experience as 199-200, so reaching this level is an especially amazing level!
