Kongregate Games

Recommended Posts

Yeah, that's largely an upwards remake of his last game - Buffalo Bison.

Kongregate is an outstanding source of good free gaming. My wife and I have been playing Bloons V lately.

There's an annoying influx of paid Facebook trash that has been cluttering the site lately, but there's still lots of good solid fun underneath that.

I don't know about you, but I consider that game to be quite above both Buffalo Bisons, and those were addictive too.

And, thanks! I had no idea they had released a fifth version. Bloons are one of my favorite TDs, although the best for me so far is Kingdom Rush.

Yeah, Kingdom Rush was a lot of fun.

Some other good ones:

Momentum Missile Mayhem - too much fun ( http://www.kongregate.com/games/dz2001/momentum-missile-mayhem-2 )

Sonny - if you haven't played it, the zombie RPG ( http://www.kongregate.com/games/ArmorGames/sonny )

Tyrant - decent CCG ( http://www.kongregate.com/games/synapticon/tyrant )

Kongai - once their flagship CCG, now long ignored ( http://www.kongregate.com/games/Kongregate/kongai )

Engage - check out everything by undefined, talked to him a bit and he's pretty cool. makes his living doing

these games (barely), and was quite willing to share all his numbers, info, etc...

Epic War 2 - the early Epic Wars (1-4) are quite fun. The current one is a terrible attempt at freemium

and should be avoided. oh and the maker is a dick ( http://www.kongregate.com/games/rudy_sudarto/epic-war-2 )

Elements - more CCG goodness ( http://www.kongregate.com/games/zanzarino/elements )

Creeper World - play any of this series, one at random: ( http://www.kongregate.com/games/whiteboardwar/creeper-world-evermore )

Spacecraft - space shootery ( http://www.kongregate.com/games/OneExtraGames/spacecraft )

Anyways, there's lots lots more. I tend to only favorite the ones that take a long time to play, since once I finish something I'm usually done with it. So this doesn't include a boatload of nice shooter / platformer / etc that I've liked.

Couple more:

PlanetDefender - simple mechanics, really nice gameplay ( http://www.kongregate.com/games/wx3lab/planetdefender?acomplete=planet )

Doodle God - haha ( http://www.kongregate.com/games/Badim/doodle-god?acomplete=god )

Cat God vs Sun King - fun, nerdook is another flash dev that you should go through and play everything that this guy

has written ( http://www.kongregate.com/games/nerdook/cat-god-vs-sun-king?acomplete=cat+god )

Yes, I really like nerdook's games. Excellent list; there's a few there that I haven't played, I'll check them out.

If you like long games, these two come to mind:

Basically a scroll shooter, with RPG elements and an actual story. It's also part of the Best of 2011 Quest, and I'm a whore for those.

Mardek (Chapters 1 through 3 so far). Fun, kind of old school RPG, with what I find to be a good (and funny) story. Chapter 3 is also part of the Best of 2010 Quest.

Oh good times.

Mardek...you made me waste many many many hours, while I had fun. It is the only game on their that i actually copied the save file so I could play it on any comp. Crystal Story is also fun.

Sonnny is super fun.

Epic Fantasy games are awesome, but I haven't played the final one. The adventure story rocks.

Creeper is fantastic.

Like Tyrant, Kongai, and Elements. Spectromancer is also neat.

Some of mine:

Fantastic Contraption - Build shit and watch it blow up...or actually work.

6 Differences - Simple concept that has done millions of times. But this one owns all. The music....jesus...I love it.

I guess all games from Ivory. Storm the house is fun.

I like a lot of the art based games with interesting and normally depressing stories.

William and Sly - Platformer.

Coma - Dark/good story puzzle type game. Also from the same creater, Skinny.

Visitor - Guide an alien through map. Quick, but really neat looking.

The Company of Myself - Argh. Sad story but great art and soundtrack

How do you continue where you left off? I tried logging back into my account for the knightmare tower game on a different computer, but it made start over.
