Copeseticman Report post Posted December 9, 2013 An organization I am involved with currently has a website hosted by Go Daddy. We are looking to change servers/ hosts because they charge almost double for a Wordpress formatted website, we are transitioning to Wordpress. Do you guys know of any Go Daddy competitors that I can research to see their charges for Wordpress hosting?
Wingnut Report post Posted December 10, 2013 I use hostgator(after a bit of researching). Never heard of someone charging more for a specific kind of website... Hostgator is just a flat fee and generally is at or below other web hosts.
Envy Report post Posted December 10, 2013 I host at apisnetworks.com and have no complaints, it's pretty standard with a lot of bandwidth different options. GoDaddy may be asking you to pay more for WordPress support because they don't include database/PHP support with the basic hosting package (which is kind of absurd if they don't) Let me know if you want to host at Apis, I can get you 15% off your monthly bill + some extra storage. Should come out to $8.50 per month with Ruby, Python, and MySQL/Postgres support

Copeseticman Report post Posted December 11, 2013 After having a discussion with a buddy, he thinks our price at GoDaddy was going to increase because we want to add a list serve feature to the website.
RollinDutch Report post Posted December 14, 2013 I'm entirely on AWS now. More of a pain in the ass to set up, but cheap & very flexible.
